Beavers Indian sleepover

12 beavers spent a great 24 hours at Kinver campsite sleeping in their log cabin and making totam pole, teepees and feather headresses. Beavers had so much fun they had a lay in (unheard off) leaving their leaders waiting for them to get up the next day!

KD9 Cubs get ready to make a noise with the Samba drums

Cubs making Music

Our pack evening this week was taken over by Sam and his Samba drum band, a great evening at Rhydd where all the cubs got to join in the band using a variety of percusion, cubs were encouraged to play out different tempos and then put it all together, just as well the neighbours didn’t mind!

Wed & Thurs Scouts attend Activate camp

Both troops joined forces for the Scout activate camp last weeked and Rhydd. 28 Scouts had a go at a wide variety of activities including pony treking, water sports, caving, target sports and flying.

added to that was a camp fire and a fantastic firework display put on at the Safari park which gave our scouts a grandstand view. The weather was great and all The Scouts had a great time

KD9 Cub Pack news

At our fullest we now have 36 cubs come along to our pack meetings at Rhydd. the cubs have been working toward their scientist badge including making natural egg carriers and egg protectors! last week we had a Samba band come along to demonstrate their music and all the cubs joined in with the various percussion. Next week we have the water slide to look forward to.

In September we wil be attending the ‘District Pirate camp!

Wednesday Scout troop

Having only started this troop in January we now have 16 Scouts with more Cubs moving up in September. The scouts have done a variety of activities inclduing a cycling orienteering activitiy last week and climbing and crate stacking to look forward to.

A regular stream of parents help support this troop and the Scouts.

KD9 support Kidderminster carnival

As in previous years Beavers, cubs and scouts spent the evening selling carnival programmes on Spennells and the surrounding area. Our way of supporting and promoting the Kidderminster carnival. thanks to all those who brought a programme from us

Cubs take part in District cyclocross

Congratulations to Ben, Callum and Jack for taking part in the recent cyclocross competition and a special well done to Ben and Callum who came 2nd and 3rd overall

KD9 Cubs and beavers – District football competition

Congratulations to all the cubs and beavers who took part in the District 5 a side football competition today – Sunday 14th May. 2 of our teams got through to the semi finals, beavers losing after extra time and cubs losing on penalties. which makes them just as good as David Beckham!!

They all played brilliently and showed a great sportsman like attitude, thanks also to the parents for all their support. – team photos to follow

Cub camp at Blackwell Court

24 cubs and their leaders have just spent the weekend at the tented village at Blackwell Court. with the weather on Saturday freezing cold and wet, they cubs climbed and abseiled before one group braved the rafting and the others braved the giant zip wire.

Saturday evening the rain even stopped… nearly, for the orienteering.

Sunday hailed sunny but still cold and the groups carried on their activities. whilst choosing which activities they want to do when we return next year!
