Eight Scouts from KD9 braved the sub zero temperatures at Rhydd Covert from 12th to 14th Feb.
Patrol Leaders and APL’s joined together for a series of activities that included a night hike, pioneering and a chip run but perhaps the hardest part of the camp was trying to spread butter on bread for sandwiches at lunchtime. It was frozen for almost all of the day.
The youngsters also had a talk and had a go at axe and saw use during the weekend thanks to help from Ian Dovey at KD1.
Pictures below show the youngsters dealing with pioneering poles in the very cold weather.
